Country Requirements

___________________________________________________________________________________
General Information
If you attended a branch campus, online program, or an international school following the educational model of another country rather than the country where you resided at the time, we may need to review your documents to determine which country’s polices apply.
Provisional Assessment vs Official Evaluation
The Provisional Assessment is conducted on the basis of unofficial records. This includes scans, copies, notarized documents, student copies, and other documents that we would not normally accept for an Official Evaluation. Please check with the intended recipient (admissions officer, employer, immigration attorney, recruiter, etc.) before applying to ensure that they are willing to accept a Provisional Assessment on the basis of unofficial documents. We will not issue a refund if you apply and then cancel. Be sure to look at the country-specific requirements for your educational documents. Even though you can send scans, we still need the specific types of documents for each country and level of study.
For an Official Evaluation, we cannot use copies, scans, or faxes unless they can be verified with the issuing institution or are sent directly to us from the issuing institution. We can begin the Official Evaluation on the basis of scanned or faxed copies of your credentials, but we are unable to complete and send the Official Evaluation until the official records have been received. Notarized documents are not official; we also do not accept the Apostille as official. Unofficial "student copies" and print-outs from online student advising/records systems are not considered official even if sent by mail.
Changing Report Type
If you wish to change your report type from Provisional Assessment to Official Evaluation or vice versa, please email us so that we can help you with this process. If your report is not yet complete, there will be no fee. If the report is already completed and sent, there will be a nominal fee for administrative processing.
Custom Application
If you are applying to Baylor College of Medicine Graduate School, City College of New York (CUNY), Millersville University, NYU School of Professional Studies, the University of Dallas, or US-AID, the Provisional Assessment option is not available. These institutions require an Official Evaluation based on official documents.
International Baccalaureate
Transcript Research is a designated recipient in the International Baccalaureate Information System. To order at https://rrs.ibo.org/replacement_orders/index.cfm, select Request for results to Institutes of higher education > United States > Texas > Transcript Research.
International Schools
If you attended an international secondary school that followed the educational system of another country (such as a private British, French, or Indian secondary school as an example), please look up the educational requirements for that country of the educational system of your school rather than the educational system of the country where you studied.
Diploma Supplements and Europass
If you have attended a European higher education institution, we require the official diploma and diploma supplement. We may be able to accept the Europass Diploma Supplement with the official diploma if the Europass Diploma Supplement includes all of the relevant information about your individual courses, credits, and grades. Please check with us before applying if you intend to submit a Europass so we can examine a scan of your documents to ensure they meet our needs. We cannot accept student printouts, scans, or photocopies of the Europass or Diploma Supplement as official documents. We maybe able to accept securely signed PDFs, but please check with us before applying.
General Education Diploma (GED)
The General Education Diploma (GED) is a US high school diploma equivalency examination that is offered at testing centers in over 80 countries around the world through official test centers. Transcript Research does not evaluate the GED since it is a US high school diploma test. If you have earned the North American GED and still want international credentials evaluated separately, please let us know.
Secondary and Upper Secondary Leaving Exams & Results Slips
We are unable to accept a Results Slip as official unless we can confirm that your formal secondary certificate has not yet been issued (generally, less than 12 months since examination date).
Licensing Qualifications
If you are have earned a teaching license, medical license, nursing certificate, or other professional qualification separate from your academic records, please provide it as well.
Digital Records
We are happy to accept official digital records from verifiable sources for Official Evaluations. Documents may be sent electronically by fax or email from the institution that issued the credential. For electronic records, we must be able confirm that the sender is the appropriate authority at the institution that issues educational records, and we must be able to confirm the email address or other contact information. If we are unable to verify that the email address sending us the documents is authorized to issue the records (controller of exams, registrar, records office, etc) for that institution, we will not be able to accept the electronic records and will require alternative official documents as specified below in the country-specific requirements. We cannot accept digital documents from gmail.com, yahoo.com, 163.com, 123.com, sina.com, qq.com, yandex.com, hanmail.com, live.com, mail.ru, rediff.com, and other general email providers unless that specific email address is on the school’s official website.
Qualification Check
Instead of mailing official documents for an Official Evaluation, you may be able to pay to have your post-secondary transcripts and degree (if you graduated) verified by Qualification Check. They verify educational records at 40,000+ education institutions in over 190 countries in approx 5-10 days. Register for free at https://transcriptresearchapplications.qualificationcheck.com/#/login/register?atid=9 to see if they can verify your post-secondary documents before you apply. Each credential must be verified separately, even from the same institution. If you use Qualification Check, you will need to upload a PDF of both your transcripts and any degrees or diplomas you earned. Qualification Check is a separate company, so you have to apply to them AND apply to Transcript Research in for us to evaluate documents they verify. You MUST use the Transcript Research portal for QC, or we will be unable to accept the verification since their requirements are different from our policies.
Verification
If you would rather pay a verification fee to have unofficial documents verified, please contact us at info@transcriptresearch.com before you apply so we can determine if the verification for your institution(s) is available for the time period you studied BEFORE YOU APPLY for paid verification. We cannot guarantee that verification is an option.
For those credentials that require a verification fee, a separate fee will be required for each credential and each institution. The verification fee varies, depending on the fee required by the institution. Contact us before applying if you want this option. Verification fees generally cost $40 to $60, but it may be higher or lower, depending on the institutional fees of the school or exam authority of your particular country and time period. This service may take several weeks or longer so this option is recommended only if official documents are not available and you need an Official Evaluation.
For a small number of countries, however, we can only evaluate documents that have been verified and that require a verification fee. Please see the country specifics.
